
Timber Rules : Forest Regulations Lower Standards, Tie Government Hands and Reduce Accountability
The Forest and Range Practices Act of 2002 brought in a new era of forestry deregulation that placed an unprecedented degree of control over public resources in the hands of forest companies. There are inadequate checks and balances in the regulations. This paper examines deficiencies in the Act.
