Provides information, referrals, and representation on issues including various family legal issues (including child protection issues), income assistance (applying for disability benefits and appeals, and more), housing (residential tenancy issues for tenants), and employment issues (employment insurance, employment standards, and CPP).

Support and advocacy for people living with a combination of mental illness, mental health problems, low-income, or homelessness, on issues including income security and financial hardship, access to health care and substance use supports, filing taxes, residential tenancy and housing, child protection and family law issues, and debt relief.

The Disability Law Clinic provides free legal advice to people with disabilities about human rights and discrimination. Issues include accommodations in the workplace; access to transportation; access to education; housing; and service animals. They can also provide advice to people having problems with their disability benefits.

The family law advocate helps with issues such as divorce, parenting time, and child/spousal support. The legal advocate helps with problems involving your landlord, employment, income assistance, debt, and more. The legal information and assistance coordinator helps with legal aid referrals, wills and estates, debt, and other issues.

Legal advice and assistance to low-income individuals, generally to appeal a decision (judicial review). Issues include housing (Residential Tenancy Branch, and more), income security (Employment and Assistance Appeal Tribunal, and more), and workers’ rights (SST appeals on EI, and more).

The clinic provides advocacy, legal advice, and representation mainly to low-income individuals. Areas of the law include social assistance, income assistance, tenancy, employment (including employment insurance and employment standards), workers’ compensation, human rights, debt, and disability (including mental health).

Free and confidential legal advocacy services including information and referrals, summary advice and support, and full representation in many legal matters including housing (on and off reserve), income/social assistance, debt, police accountability, human rights, disability, Indigenous legal issues, elder issues, child protection, and much more.

Provides legal information, education, and help with problem solving for low-income residents of the West Kootenays. They can help with welfare, family law, tenancy, women’s safety, and poverty survival. They also provide specialized victim assistance to victims of relationship violence, sexual assault, and child abuse. Advocacy services are free.

Provides free legal representation services for particular case types to individuals with low and modest incomes. It includes a Barristers’ Program (limited and extended litigation services), Court of Appeal Program (civil and family), Family Law Program (limited scope), Refugee Program (for sponsors), and Wills and Estates Program (non-litigious).

Legal advocates help with legal questions and with tenancy disputes, family law, poverty law, tribunals, hearings, and more for those in the South Okanagan/Similkameen and Boundary country. Open for booked appointments and limited drop-ins.
