The clinic’s lawyers provide low-barrier and culturally sensitive legal advice and support for low-income South Asian families. Unbundled services may be available. Issues covered by staff lawyers include gender-based violence, separation, family law protection orders. Volunteer lawyers may help with civil litigation, criminal law, and more.

This student-staffed free legal clinic provides legal help and advice to eligible people. They represent clients in areas including residential tenancy, employment standards, small claims, human rights claims, and some criminal charges. They draft legal documents such as simple wills, demand letters, powers of attorney, and more.

May provide legal advice, assistance, and representation to First Nations and Métis clients who live in the Capital Regional District and who can’t afford a lawyer. Staff work with First Nations communities and organizations to provide accessible and holistic legal services to their members. They also help with access to the Human Rights Clinic.

Provides legal advice, assistance, and representation to eligible clients who live in the Capital Regional District and who can’t afford a lawyer. They help with criminal matters, divorce, support and other family law matters, human rights complaints, and civil disputes. They also help with some hearings before administrative tribunals.

Persons who are hospitalized or who can’t attend the Law Centre in person because of disability or illness may telephone the office for more information. A staff member may arrange to visit them. (The Law Centre staff won’t give legal advice over the telephone.)

Provides legal information services to the public via a network of libraries in BC courthouses. Visit the website & learn how the libraries provide access to staff expertise, print and digital legal collections, and public computers. You’re encouraged to call or email before visiting as they can provide many services this way & can save you time.

Free legal advice and representation on issues such as criminal summary offences, civil resolution, small claims, residential tenancy, WorkSafeBC, consumer protection, EI, CPP and Old-Age Pension, wills and estates, and immigration and refugee issues. They may draft certain types of legal documents such as demand letters, wills, and more.

The clinic provides advice, assistance, and representation to eligible clients who can’t afford a lawyer and who self-identify as Indigenous. They help with administrative and civil law matters, criminal matters, Aboriginal law/Indigenous legal issues, family law matters, child protection, human rights complaints, and more.

This service helps you get a customized referral to a lawyer, a notary, or a designated paralegal for a free 15 to 30-minute consultation. Booking fee may apply. If you would like further help from the legal professional, you can retain them at a rate you both agree to.

Offers free legal advice to low- and modest-income individuals by phone or videoconference. Their volunteer lawyers provide up to a half hour of advice at each appointment, with the possibility of more appointments. Legal issues include family, immigration, criminal, and civil law (such as debt, employment, welfare, and housing matters).
