There are a variety of organizations, like VictimLINK BC, that offer helpful information on how to increase your personal safety, as well as other forms of support. However, it is important to contact the police if you believe you are being stalked.
Good starting points include:
- Help Starts Here: Information on Stalking, from the provincial government, has information about criminal harassment and suggests ways to stay safe.
- Stalking is a Crime Called Criminal Harassment, from the Canada Department of Justice, explains what type of behaviour counts as criminal harassment and what steps you can take to protect yourself.
- For Your Protection: Peace Bonds and Family Law Protection Orders, from the provincial government and Legal Services Society, is written for people living in BC who need protection from someone they are - or have been - in an intimate relationship with.
