
Prisoners’ Legal Services
A legal aid clinic for federal and provincial prisoners in British Columbia. Assists prisoners with issues that affect their liberty rights under s. 7 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, such as segregation, disciplinary hearings, involuntary transfers, parole suspensions, detention hearings, sentence calculation. Prisoners’ Legal Services can provide summary advice, make written submissions on behalf of clients, and in some cases, appoint a lawyer to represent clients at hearings.
