Parental Support Obligation in Section 90 of the Family Relations Act

Since 1922, British Columbia has had a law obliging adult children to support their dependent parents. This law was intended as a way for governments to reduce their obligation to provide social assistance, and it is rarely used today. This project examines whether it should remain part of our law.
